Nada's semester abroad: NYC

(ENGL) Three years have passed since I was in NYC the last time! We had to take a cab to get to the Hamilton train station and it took us about 1.5 hours to get to NYC. At first I wasn't excited at all, but when I made my first step onto the streets of the Big Apple- I felt like crying! A feeling of happiness to be there and have this possibility to be there overcame me. To see and feel this city- unbelievable and simply indescribable! The other girls- Maja, Vladi and Ana I guess felt the same, as it was there first time. Chrissy and Susana were also speechless, even though it wasn't there first time. We just walked around- Times Square, Rockefeller Center, 5th avenue, NYC public library, the subway- in order to get to Little Italy, Chinatown and then later on to the Staten Island ferry, which we took in order to enjoy the skyline of NYC. At the Apple store in the 5th avenue we met up with Amjad (he's working at the University and offered to guide us through the city) and at the public library we met with the other international students and Rob (who is from Philadelphia, but likes to hang out with us ;) ). A great day! Full with great experiences and many laughters! In the end we went to the Hard Rock Café! At 2 am we arrived back at the Hamilton train station.

(D) Vor drei Jahren war ich das letzte Mal in NYC! Wir mussten ein Taxi nehmen um zum Hamilton Bahnhof zu kommen, wo wir in den Zug stiegen und nach 1.5 Stunden in NYC waren. Zuerst war ich überhaupt nicht aufgeregt, doch als ich meine ersten Schritte auf den Straßen des Big Apples ging, wollte ich nur noch weinen! Ein Gefühl, das man nicht beschreiben kann, überkam mich! Ich war so glücklich und irgendwie auch dankbar dort sein zu dürfen und diese unfassbare Stadt erleben zu dürfen. Die anderen Mädels waren auch sprachlos irgendwie. Eben, unbeschreibbar! Wir waren am Times Square, beim Rockefeller Center, auf der 5th avenue, bei der public library, nahmen natürlich die subway um nach Little Italy, Chinatown und dann später auch auf die Fähre die nach Staten Island fährt und von der aus wir die Skyline genossen zu kommen. In der 5th avenue trafen wir uns mit Amjad (er arbeitet auf der Uni und bot uns an uns durch die Stadt zu führen) und bei der Bibliothek trafen wir uns mit den anderen internationalen Studenten und Rob, der aus Philadelphia kommt, doch mit uns Internationalen gerne abhängt ;) Es war einfach ein toller Tag mit viel Gelächter und den wir im Hard Rock Café ausklingen liesen. Um zwei in der Früh waren wir zurück beim Hamilton Bahnhof.

(HR) Tri godine su već prošle od kada sam zadnji put bila u NYC-u! S taksijem smo otišle do željezničke stanice u Hamiltonu. Od tamo smo uzele vlak i za sat i pol smo bile u NYC-u. Prvo uopće nisam bila uzbuđena, ali kada sam pogledala oko sebe i shvatila gdje sam, došlo mi je da plačem od sreće! Neopisiv osjećaj biti u takvom gradu i biti na nekakav način, na par sati bar, dio tog grada! Nešto prekrasno! Obišli smo Times Square, Rockefeller Center, petu aveniju, javnu knjižnicu i naranvo da smo koristili subway, s kojom smo došli do Little Italy, Chinatown i kasnije do trajekta koji vozi do Staten Island-a. S trajekta smo imali prekrasan pogled na NYC, takozvani skyline. U petoj aveniji smo se našle s Amjadom koji radi na fakultetu i koji nam je ponudio da nam pokaže grad, a kod javne knjižnice smo se našli s ostalim studentima koju su kao i mi iz različitih zemalja i tu za jedno polugodište ili za cijelu godinu- jedini je bio Rob koji je amerikanac, ali izgleda voli biti s nama "strancima" ;) Dan je bio prekrasan! Jednostavno super! Puno smo vidjeli i puno smo se smijali! Na kraju smo još otišli u Hard Rock Café na par koktejlića ;) U dva u jutro smo se vratili u Hamilton!
